Foxton Pre-School

Foxton Primary has close links with the village pre-school, which is open 5 days a week and is located in the village hall. The staff and children often join us for special assemblies and events, plus, in their final months at pre-school, the children are welcomed into Foxton Primary for weekly sessions, to get them ready for starting in reception in September.

Foxton pre-school’s aims are to enhance the development and education of children under school age in a parent-involved, community-based group; to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment; and to work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families.

It offers a specially tailored curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes, fun and friendship with children and other adults, the support of a personal keyworker, and opportunities for families to be involved in the activities of the group and in the child’s progress. Children are encouraged to be creative, and to learn through fun and meaningful activities in an environment where self-respect and respect for others is fostered.

Foxton pre-school is fortunate to have a fantastic private garden for the children to play in, and is situated at the heart of the village, close to the recreation ground, shop and church, which comes in handy for walks and minor trips out.

The pre-school is led by Kelly Dunne, who is ably assisted by Deputy Manager Beth Kewley, practitioners Lucy Dobson and Panjarat Patthanonsorrathan. Backing them up is an active working committee, whose members include parents with children at both the pre-school and at Foxton Primary.
